MDrummer's sound system
![]() |
No compromises!
MDrummer's sound engine can cover the entire wide range of percussion instruments
from drums to effects and scratches.
You can have any number of drumsets, any number of drums in all of the drumsets,
any number of layers and effects in all of the drums.
You can setup any number of drumsets. Each drum has common parameters (e.g. volume, panorama, associated MIDI keys), audio effect pipeline and a set of velocity layers with sound generators. MDrummer's sound system plays drums as good as any other percussion instruments and even sound effects (for example scratches). It is very general, though very fast, optimized for modern instruction sets. |
Testimonial
Testing the MDrummer 3 update now, just love it, great job, MDrummer gets better and better, its fun to follow the development, and watching MDrummer grow from beeing good to great, thanks Meldaproduction for a good job on a awsome product.
- Many predefined drumsets, unlimited number of user drumsets. Drumset defines sound of MDrummer. MDrummer comes with a huge library of multisamples, samples, subsample libraries, layer presets... We have used these resources to create several read-to-use drumsets for you and you can do the same, save and organize your drumsets.
- Drumset generator and merger can be used to generate almost
unlimited number of original drumsets in a few clicks.
If you do not want to waste your time with complicated sound configurations or
just need some inspiration, this is the maximum computers can provide!
You can generate more than 33 millions of millions of millions drumsets from read-to-use drumset components included in the full version by pressing a single button, 16500 of them will have unique bass and snare drum combinations. Really! It is that simple! - Global automatable volume, panorama (including hit fixation for maximally natural sound), panorama width and pitch. Editing single drums takes a lot of time. On the other hand you can edit common parameters that affect all of the drums and are automatable using VST or MIDI. For example global pitch provides incredible sound possibilities.
- Unlimited number of drums per drumset. Unlike other products MDrummer does not have limitations. You can have as many drums in your drumsets as your computer can handle, which is typically many and more. Why would you do so? Because you will use drumset merger, since it has potential to create unique drumsets with very full sound. Have you ever heard multiple drummers playing along? It is awsome!
- Unlimited number of velocity layers per drum. Everyone tells you, that you need at least 10 velocity layers to have your drumset sound naturally. That is not really true, because you typically use 2-3 velocities for most notes and even humanization does not change much. However velocity layers may be used for several interesting effects too. But only in MDrummer.
- Plugin based sound generators
(based on MASPS - MeldaProduction Audio Stream Plugin System)
associated with each layer.
Current release contains :
- MMultiSampler - incredibly sophisticated sampler with automatical velocity layer management, alterning hits and possibly even multimicrophone control.
- MSampler - standard sampler with envelope and delay. MDrummer manages its sample library so you will never have any problems with sample locations. Currently accepts WAV and MP3 files.
- MSynthesizer N4 - 2 noise generators with envelope and 4 oscillators with volume and frequency envelopes, all with configurable combination (by addition, ring and frequency modulations). Enough to generate any synthetic drum sound and even interesting sound effects.
- MSubSampleSynthesizer - absolutely unique spectrum based synthesizer that allows you to generate inexhaustible lots of drum sounds using our subsample libraries.
- MScratcher - extended sampler with position envelope. Why chasing scratch samples since you can generate your own?
- Plugin based audio effects (based on MAEPS - MeldaProduction Audio Effect Plugin System).
Each drum has its own effect pipeline. Many of the plug-ins are/will be available
in form a VST plug-in. Current release contains following plug-ins :
- MAnalyzer
- MAutopan
- MBandPass
- MCompressor
- MConvolver
- MDelay
- MEqualizer
- MLimiter
- MPhaser
- MRingModulator
- MStereoExpander
- MTremolo
- MVibrato
- MWaveShaper
- 64 drum types free you from any complicated configuration (such as MIDI key assignments) and make resulting drumsets perfectly compatible with each other and MIDI standard itself. Includes drums, cymbals, latin percussion, background percussion (shakers, tambourines...), scratches and more.
- Layer export into WAVe files. MDrummer sound generators and effects are very powerful. If you like to play with sound and then export it into WAV samples, it is so easy with MDrummer.
- Up to 16 output stereo audio channels, 4 of them assigned automatically using drum types. All drums are automatically sent to one of the 4 channels by default. For example, drums have associated channel 1, hihat and ride cymbals channel 2, crash and other effect cymbals channel 3 and so on. This fits common needs, and if you need to have a special channel for particular drum(s), you just route them differently.
- Velocity can affect volume and even pitch. Volume is almost always affected by velocity of particular note. If velocity modifies the pitch too, quite interesting effects can be archieved.
- Several general drum parameters such as pitch, chain gun effect protection level, fade-out length etc. MDrummer defines many parameters that define drum behaviour and the set is still expanding.
- Drum freezing feature heavily reduces CPU usage.
- Any set of MIDI keys (even overlapping) can be associated to each drum.
