Mastering Engineer | Dolby Atmos Immersive Engineer | Sound Designer | Re-Recording Mixer

Shane Slack
There’s a tendency to overlook Melda, but that would be a mistake. They’re one of the most innovative and quietly essential forces in the plugin world, and I genuinely mean that.

Shane Slack is a Mastering Engineer, Dolby Atmos Immersive Engineer, Sound Designer, and Re-Recording Mixer with more than a decade of experience in picture and sound engineering. He works across film, television, animation, and music. As the founder of MONO THEORY and a Mastering and Immersive Engineer at Hacienda Audio, owned by Matt Davis, he has contributed to BAFTA-, EMMY-, Grammy, and Golden Globe-nominated projects, with over 190 million streams and collaborations with artists including Deyaz, Heavy Mellow, Dirt Monkey, DREAM, MyKey, AWIN, and more.

His work in post sound includes dialogue engineering and sound design on major film, television, and game productions such as Deadpool 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Ted Lasso (Apple TV+), Little Amelie, The Umbrella Academy, Manifest, NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS), Star Wars: Visions, Square Enix, Platinum Games, The Legend of Hei, and Disney’s Twisted Wonderland.

“I have a wide range of tools at my disposal, but Melda has consistently been the plugin suite that makes me stop and think, ‘Who came up with this?’  in the best possible way. You think they haven’t thought up some insane idea or feature only to discover that it was in their arsenal the entire time.

Over the past few years, I’ve used Melda plugins extensively across every production I’ve worked on. Standouts for me include MSpectralDynamics, MDynamicEQ, MWaveshaper, MDynamics, and MTurboReverb, all of which have earned a place on some of the biggest projects I’ve been involved with because of their depth, flexibility, and exceptional sound quality. As a Mastering Engineer and Dolby Atmos Immersive Engineer, I value tools that are both technically advanced and genuinely musical, and Melda delivers that balance consistently.
